POS, accounting, QR menu and e-invoice products for restaurants and small businesses

Overview

At İzbel Yazılım I developed the company's restaurant point-of-sale web application, an accounting system, a QR menu and the services that send electronic invoices automatically. The POS system is used by restaurants across İzmir.

The problem

Restaurants and small businesses needed web access to their POS and accounting data, a link to a food-delivery platform and automatic electronic invoicing.

Key features

• POS web app: live table status, open bills, sold, voided and complimentary items, stock counts
• Reports exported to Excel and PDF
• Food-delivery platform integration: menu import and product matching
• Accounting: purchasing, customer accounts, quick sale, returns, work orders and reports
• QR menu admin with automatic menu translation
• e-Invoice, e-dispatch and e-receipt creation through an e-document provider API, saving the invoice number and PDF back to the system
• A Flutter mobile wrapper for the POS web app

Architecture

• ASP.NET MVC (.NET Framework) and ASP.NET Core 8 MVC applications on SQL Server with Entity Framework 6 and EF Core
• e-Invoice integration as a scheduled Windows Service and .NET 8 console workers that refresh the API token on a timer
• REST integrations with the e-document provider and the delivery platform

Technical challenges

• Synchronising invoices with existing SQL Server databases while keeping the API token valid
• Producing invoices, dispatch notes and e-receipts from the same sales data
• Matching products between the POS and the delivery platform
