End-to-end platform for a psychological counseling center

Overview

A complete platform for a psychological counseling center: clients book sessions online and pay by card, experts run video sessions and keep encrypted session notes, and the center manages packages, corporate agreements and its income and expenses. I designed, built and deployed it, then handed it over with full production documentation.

The problem

A counseling center needs bookings, online sessions, confidential notes and bookkeeping in one KVKK-compliant system instead of several disconnected tools.

Key features

• Online booking against each expert's weekly availability, date overrides and center closures
• Card payments with iyzico
• Video sessions with Jitsi
• Per-session notes encrypted at rest
• Self-assessment tests experts can assign to clients
• Session packages, corporate agreements, per-expert pricing and an income/expense ledger
• Automated reminders: email and SMS a day before, and the meeting link two hours before
• Blog with an SEO content analyser, newsletter and online legal/consent forms

Architecture

• .NET 8 Clean Architecture: Domain, Application, Infrastructure and Api projects
• PostgreSQL with EF Core; JWT authentication, BCrypt password hashing and bot protection
• A background service runs every 15 minutes and sends each reminder exactly once
• Next.js frontend; Docker Compose with PostgreSQL, backend and frontend services
• Deployed on a VPS with Coolify, automated backups and a hardened server

Technical challenges

• Encrypting sensitive health and identity data at rest to meet KVKK
• Sending every reminder exactly once from a job that keeps re-checking
• Building bookable time slots from weekly rules, one-off overrides and closures
