Overview
QuizzApp lets users create two kinds of quizzes: knowledge quizzes that are scored, and fun quizzes that work like polls. Every quiz goes through admin moderation before it is published.
The problem
User-generated quizzes need moderation — including edits to quizzes that are already live — without exposing unreviewed content.
Key features
- Knowledge quizzes with scoring and fun quizzes with one vote per user per question
- Moderation states: pending, approved, rejected and pending update
- Editing a live quiz creates a draft; the original stays live until the draft is approved
- Image upload for quizzes and answer options
- Admin analytics and user management; user stats and a leaderboard
- Animated results page and mobile-friendly navigation
Architecture
- .NET 10 Web API with EF Core on PostgreSQL
- JWT authentication with role claims and an admin-only policy
- Next.js 16 App Router frontend with Tailwind CSS and Zustand
Technical challenges
- Versioned moderation of live content through parent/draft quizzes
- Two result models in one engine: scoring and vote tallies
